So before we get started here, I just want to let you know what you’re in for. Don’t say I didn’t warn you! The following is/are, as it states somewhere on the homepage, my thoughts and theories on life, psychotherapy and philosophy (and probably a bunch of other stuff too). There are lots of opinions here and not all of them will be popular. I accept and welcome criticism and feedback as it enhances not only my growth but also the growth of my chosen field.
Furthermore, the writings before you, although based in opinion, are opinions based on years of training and clinical experience and a great deal of study. Not only study of theorists and professionals who came before me but also a study of myself. I believe fully that no good therapist can be a good therapist without an intense amount of self-reflection. I have done and continue to engage in a tremendous amount of introspection and will most likely continue to do so until I cease to be. I don’t have all the answers but I’ve got several of them…I think.
If I am truly honest, many ideas presented here are not my own. They are my interpretations of those whom I have studied and admired greatly. Rather than creating a long-winded bibliography, allow me to give a short but not exhaustive list of those who have inspired me and from whom I will draw.
Jean Paul Sartre
There’s probably a bunch more but that’ll do for now. Thanks for your time and hope you enjoy!
